Happy Wednesday all!
This
post is happening a bit late! It was supposed to be a Monday post but
that didn't happen. It was supposed to be a Tuesday post but that didn't
happen. So now it's a Wednesday post!
These pictures were taken a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon, it was warm and buggy out, the sky threatening rain. Cassie and I had walked up the hill from our house to photograph her outfit. Then Cassie announced that she thought she should take pictures of my outfit as well! I hadn't given much thought to it, hadn't done my hair in anything special, and the only reason I had shoes on is because a tree had fallen on the road a few days before and I didn't want any splinters! So, you could safely say my outfit was casual to say the least.
Some of you have asked before to see what we usually wear on a day-to-day basis. Here 'tis! I usually wear a plaid flannel button-up with a t-shirt sporting the 4H symbol or some such country-related thing underneath in the winter months. Come summer this is more the norm. Plain and practical, modest and me.
My white Birkenstocks were thrown on while running out the door, camera in tow.
Shoes- Burkies, thrifted for $3 // Skirt- thrifted for $4 // Green longsleeve- thrifted ? // Orange shirt- thrifted at bag sale
Those of you with fashion blogs can understand blooper photos. In these, I wasn't sure if Cassie was done taking the picture yet so I looked over without moving and she exclaimed,"Stop making that creepy face!" Henceforth I burst out laughing!
This may be my favorite photograph of the shoot!
Most everyone has watched the movie "God's Not Dead" by now. Except us! So, my Mom payed a buck to rent it from the RedBox and our family is going to view it tonight over a tasty pizza! While we're on the subject, I thought I'd take a moment and direct you to a wonderful post inspired by the movie. Follow THIS LINK to Kalin Ann's blog, Modesty Is My Policy, for a thought-provoking read! I enjoyed and agreed with everything she said and I hope someday to be as good a writer as her!
Do you consider my outfit blog-worthy?
Do you have a clothing item you just keep going back to?

I LOVE your skirt! I have trouble finding such nice skirts; do you know of any online stores that have modest skirts like that? Oh, I thought God's Not Dead was very good. I think you'll like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting Sadie! I don't shop online much, mostly at thrift stores actually. But there are a few shops on Etsy that sell custom jean skirts and the like. One shop, theModestMaiden, sells some everyday wear and a lot of beautiful historical costumes and dresses. Hope this helped!

Thank you for the shoutout, Rebekah! So sweet! You are an excellent writer already and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, as well! I wore a similar themed outfit yesterday. :)
Thank YOU! ;-) We can always count on a well thought out, Bible supported view when on your blog!

Your outfit is fun Rebekah, and reminds me of what we girls wear on a day to day basis! Sometimes it's pretty hard to not do anything to your outfit and just put it up on the blog as it is, isn't it? You look beautiful and fashionable as always.

Are you guys apostilistic or pentecostal???
ReplyDeleteWe believe in the Trinity- God the Head, Jesus (Yeshua) the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are currently in between churches, so we don't belong to an Apostolic or Pentecostal church at this point. In the past we were members of an Assembly of God church. Hope this answers your question sufficiently. In the future, please use some form of identification. Thanks for commenting!

What is an assembly of god?
ReplyDeleteIt is a Pentecostal Spirit-believing sect.
