Hello dears! When I signed off 'Ta-ta till the weekend' in my last post I did not mean the entire next week! But life's happenings has kept this post till now. And I'm certain that we'll be back in the swing of things right quick as Summer begins it's warm weather and family outings ensue.
As one who knows my style choice even slightly, you'll not be surprised if I start off by saying that this ensemble was inspired by my hair up-do. It seems that I can throw together an outfit by just the smallest hair doo-dad and then step out coordinated. At least in my book. Ha ha! But today's little piece (and our outfit's sole inspiration) comes from none other than a Lilla Rose Flexi. When their new line of Color Basics came out for Spring, choosing whether or not to purchase one was not as big of a question as choosing which color to order one in! I opted for Pink Rose in size mini (photo down below) as that seems to be size we girls reach for on most days. And pink?
Yes, pink. As long as I can remember I've had drawbacks on basically every hue of the largely known girly color. But the more I paw through my wardrobe these S/S months, I realize I've become not quite, but extremely fond of it's delicacy and effortless feminine flair. I find myself in lace, some hue of pink, or floral most days I step outside the house. I suppose it's just odd realizing how much you thought you detested something when really you've been in love with it all along. :)
My dear youngest sister, Melody, hopped in on our photo shoot as we bounded up and down the hills of our designated photo shoot area. In many ways my inspiration for "thinking pink" have come from this little tike of mine. Her style for an 8 year old is so adorable. Each day she tries to wear at least one thing that's her beloved hue no matter where she's going or what she'll be up against. That small joy of her's got me to thinking, yes, why do we limit ourselves to only having a pleasure at times when we need them? We need to constantly be delighting ourselves while we are in this life. Not selfishly, but in a way that brings joy to the Father and comfort to those in our mist. If we're not pleasant to be around, chances are we're not going to attract anyone. That means not being able to further the Kingdom. That means losing our purpose in life. When we enjoy life we live it to the fullest. That my friends will attract the hurting, lost, and weary.
