Outfit // Comfort Zones

Outfit // Comfort Zones
Hello dears! Life continues to be a bit crazy now that summer's in full swing; blueberry farm work and my regular nannying job. But every once in a while you get that little break from the rush of life's daily toils and boy is it nice! This past Sunday I was invited to attend church with the family who's kids I watch as they had a picnic afterwords! I readily accepted the invite, and as you may have guessed, this is what I donned for the occasion.

See those shoes in the full view pics above? Well those are what this post is entailed in honor of today. You see, I've never been one to like a wedged shoe and I surely am not an everyday heel wearer, but Mom picked up these with in mind to consign them. Well, second I saw them I thought I just may be persuaded of my long grudge against the style of shoe. I knew it would be a rarity for me to get a chance to wear them if I decided not to wear them for the church service and picnic the following day after spying them, so it was decided!- I'd take the plunge and be a little less practical than is my usual habit in hope of getting out of my comfort zone I'd lingered in for so long.

It just so happened I had that darling ditsy printed shirt by Boden that matched the floral on the heels ever so well. Happy me!

I continued the outfit with a dark backdrop of the chocolate colored layered skirt, and topped it off with a few new hair accessories I'd gotten for my birthday a few days before. Oh how fun it is to don new things, am I right?

The spiritual side to this post is this: sometimes we face times when we're pushed out of our areas of comfort. This can be such a verity of things; being around certain people, attending a certain ta-do. But what I've been learning (trying to anyway!) the last few weeks is that though these times are not fun by a longshot, we need to try our best to embrace them so we can better help others after we've experienced a certain situation that may have not been pleasant to deal with, or even just for our own benefit, because surely YHWH doesn't have us pushed for no reason. The most practical reason that comes to mind for me is that it is preparing us for something that is yet to come, the future.

What lesson have you been working on lately?

Girls: do you like wedged heels?

  1. Beautiful outfit! I love the summery classiness of your ensemble and how the eyelet/lacy look of your headband ties into your shrug. Your shoes are lovely also. What vibrant, fun colors. I am kind of torn on wedges. I'm always afraid I'll twist my ankle in them more than other shoes or heels for some reason, but I do think certain wedges, like yours, are pretty if feminine and a little dressy.
Also enjoyed your spiritual reflects on how the Lord brings us out of our comfort zones- this is something I ponder often as well and need to pray about more. Thank you for this reminder.

    Blessings in Christ.
    Have a wonderful evening,

  2. Love those wedges! I have a pair that I love, but heels are definitely outside of my comfort zone unless they're on a boot for some reason. Love these photos, too!

  6. I LOVE the shoes, Cassie! No, I'm not a wedge-heel shoes wearer, but the ones you wore are darling, and I would probably wear them myself! The outfit is also very pretty! Great photography, Rebekah! :)
