Outfit || the Smell of Spring

Hello dears! I hope that your week has found you well!
Today I am sharing an outfit that I wore to church a few Sundays past.
It reminded me so much of spring. The smell we could faintly sniff as we stepped out last eve.
How we wait and wait in the mist of brown dreariness for the slightest hope of new life. Of something green. If you have not guessed it by now of this nature-loving lady, that my friend is my utmost favorite color- green- all shades. It does not matter what hue it is. I love it because it reminds me of life and of our Creator. How detailed this world He made is!    I, my dear ladies am ready for spring - for new life!

"When daisies pied and violets blue
                                                       And lady-smocks all silver-white
                                                    And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with  delight, ...

The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
                                                                                  Cuckoo;
Cuckoo, cuckoo: Oh word of fear,
                                                                   Unpleasing to a married ear!

When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are plowmen’s clocks,
When   turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks,

 Shoes- gifted // stockings - vintage- gifted // Slip- made by me // Skirt- thrifted- $3 // Undershirt (worn backwards)- thrifted- $1 // Sweater- Anne Taylor- goodwill- $4 // Tichel/headscarf- gifted // Belt-goodwill- $1
Okay, who loves my new shoes?! My mom presented me with them on Christmas day.
They are simply fabulous! These are something that I would pin and hope one day I would be able to afford to send away for....I love everything about them...

How do you like our new picture setup?! We were in a rush the afternoon of this Sunday, when we took these outfit photos so we really didn't want to go trudging out in the freezing weather just to hurry up and come back to prepare for our departure.
I have been brainstorming were we could have an emergency photo shoot (inside) since we started blogging- I have no idea why I did not think of this sooner! This is the small hall way into our sewing room. The lighting is practically divine (when the sun is out) because we have two windows in the tiny make do space.
I am one happy camper about this!

Oh, and Rebekah and I are going to be starting a photo a day series this Friday! So keep a watch out for that! We have been following a few lately and have really been enjoying it....so we thought we would start one for y'all! Instead of it being a 'challenge' (a picture per day for a certain amount of time) it may turn into a common post around here. There is seldom something more wonderful than a glimpse of a friend's day- 'a picture is worth a thousand words'. :)

I'd best skedaddle! Evening Church services are coming on quick!

Do you like our inside pictures?
Are you ready for spring yet?
Have you held a photo a day before?

                                                                             Shalom!

  1. Cassie, I love this outfit!! Last Thursday I found a skirt very similar to yours at the thrift store, and was wondering what to pair it with. Now I know! And I absolutely love your headscarf! I hope that you don't mind if I ask, but do you wear head coverings full time? It is a matter that the Lord has been pressing on my heart lately... It sure helps to see beautiful ones like yours! I think that a tutorial on how to style it this way would be nice! :) Oh, and yes, I like inside pictures a lot, although outside ones are very nice too. I cannot wait for spring, literally. It is my favourite season! :D

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment Noemie!

It is wonderful to her about your own ponderings about covering.Currently I do not cover full time. Though lately I have been super encouraged in it's beauty.

I have been contemplating on sharing a few styles on how to cover. I believe that the Lord wants me to use this time to encourage other ladies in this way.
So stay tuned! I will soon start a series on this beautiful art.

    2. I am actually covering full time now! I've been mostly doing it with large headbands and hats, but I would really like to try head-scarfs! I can't wait to see them! I've still have not told mom and dad about me covering, but need to. I love the skirt! :D

  2. Lovely outfit, as always! Those shoes are darling! :D What a nice gift. Also, I think that the hallway made a good place for an indoor photoshoot. It can be challenging to find places inside where there 's enough light.
I look forward to your photo-a-day posts! I've never done that kind of a challenge before, though I think that it would be fun (especially when I buy my new camera ;).
Enjoy the gentle coming of spring! :)

  3. Such a lovely outfit, I adore the shoes and the scarf in your hair! You must do a tutorial on it one day, I'd love to see how you did it. :)

As usual, love seeing your outfit posts. I can't wait to get mine back up after my camera is fixed! :)

  9. Hello.. :o)

I was wondering--do you have a tutorial for the way you did your scarf in this picture? I'm not accustomed to wearing pretty much any kind of head ware..so even the most basic is going to take me a bit to catch on.

    Thank you!
