Life These Days

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a wonderful, blessed Saturday! And that the cold weather fronts stay at bay for how ever much time is left!
The purpose of today's post is just to let you all in on how we are doing and where we have been these past two weeks, since our time has obviously not been spent on the blog!

The weeks in between our last post and now have gone by without our noticing. Though at times, we would get particularity distressed about our current situations, we first of all are grateful that neither of us have been super stressed out about not being able to keep our blog updated. And even though the time span would be considered quite short to most, we still are super surprised that we have not become grumpy or short (probably because of how physically busy we have been- but still!) with the people around us because of it. We both (especially me) are not ones who take our commitments lightly, namely, the blog and keeping it up to date.

With that said, I'd just like to share a little bit about where our time has been spent and where our future blogging lies.

I think that I'll begin with the most technical- our laptop officially ran out of storage the week we girls uploaded our outfits photos for the past two most recent posts. SO, that is one big issue that we have not been able to deal with that is a large necessity when you blog 3-4 times a week! There is not much more to add on this topic other than we would appreciate your prayers for favor as we decide to either invest in a computer of our own or buy an external-memory-box. If you have thoughts/advice, please feel free to make them known in a comment below. Even if you would like to recommend a photo editor to us, we are really looking for something with a little more quality than your average Picasa program. :)

Now that our bulk of working on the farm season has passed (last week) you'd think that things would slow down a bit for our household. No sooner had that time passed, our family (with our Mom heading it up) was proposed with an opportunity to earn a little extra money serving food at a local Civil War muster. How neat and exiting right? Well, yes and no. Lots of neat ideas can come for such an event, but with a near short time, things have to become a reality sooner rather than later. Ha ha! With both baking and cooking days penciled into our calenders throughout the house, figuring out the whole blogging issue has escaped to the bottom of our totem pole. Oh! And with a seamstress like I am I just had to make myself a period gown to attend the two day shin-dig right?

While our blueberry work is finished for the season, I am continuing to work for the cleaning service Tuesdays and Thursdays. Some days are longer than others, but overall I enjoy the work and the many conversations, both frivolous and spiritual, that always seem to consume our work with my employers.

Around a month ago, our Dad thought that his ever-so-often bunion was beginning to flair up again. Just what you wanted to hear right?! Ha ha! Long painful story short, it turned out that our many home remedies and tying his shoe laces loosely (or not wearing shoes at all) was not truly helping conquer the pain. He ended up going into the hospital (gasp!) to see what could be done. He was diagnosed with gout and while it is treatable with a certain antibiotic (it is okay if you just had a flashback to Big Head Kid on Blimey Cow saying that word Ha ha!) instead of surgery, we would still love your prayers!

Our Mother too has been dealing with some health issues, which for us is not common since our family is more the type to only catch the sniffles when fall and winter are battling each other.
Being one who has always had very low blood pressure, she was quite concerned to find out that it was quite high last week. All of her blood testing has come back and shown zero concerns. But they are still uncertain why her levels are sky rocketing. Our family has never been on any meds for long periods of time. We are praying for healing from our Lord and for a good report this Tuesday as she goes back in to rule out any blood disorders that may ensue a high blood pressure count. If the Heavenly Father lays it on your heart to lift her up we would be most appreciative.

We have spoken of our church before, and how we have been struggling with what the Lord would have us do as a family, now that most of the families we were close to, moved on for reasons that concern the leadership of the church. A few weeks ago, we decided it was time we needed to move on. We had to leave the place that we have called our Church more more than a decade. While the time was bitter, even though most of whom we were most acquainted with had already been called elsewhere, that does not make the moment any less hard. Leaving was hard. How is one to know when it is "okay" to say farewell to a place you have spent the better part of your life building up only to see it crumble and have to leave? While we are fully founded on our Messiah and His Word, we are still in the flesh, we still want to second guess ourselves and ask if we really moved on self desire, to not have to fight anymore or because He has called us to. We had to take up our mat and walk, and follow what we know is His calling for our family.

As you are now aware, we have just had a full plate these last absent weeks! Even the little things, like having to re-home our dog, you know? They just add up!
I guess the gist of it is, is that we have been busy and have had computer "problems". Ha ha!

Thank you for taking a moment to read into our lives. We are always encouraged and blessed by our friends who do take a second to just let us know, how much they care because He first cared for us!

May His face shine upon you,
Cassie

  1. My computer also has been having some problems (mine are battery issues - and well, the computer is quite old). However, since it still works, my husband and I decided it was best (financially) to invest in a storage box - mainly for our photos and other random documents - just in case the computer crashes. That's my suggestion. Unless your family has been planning to buy a new one, of course. :-) I'll be praying for your parents!

  2. Thanks for updating,.... I kind of understand your church situation, I am in a similar one and it's terrible.

    PS: I said a prayer for y'all! :)
    God bless

  3. Cassie, I totally understand your church situation. Not long ago, my family had to leave the church I grew up in and I know it's HARD. Leaving all your friends and even some of your own family can feel lonely and even hurtful at times. I will keep you in my prayers, but just know you are not alone. God will be with you and He WILL guide you in the direction He wants you to go. Just remember to trust in Him! :) Blessing to you both and your family.

  4. Wow, you have been busy! It sounds like your family has been going through some tough times. :\ I'm sorry to hear about the less pleasant things that have been filling your plate. You gals and your family will definitely be in my prayers!
Thank you for staying faithful to the Lord. He /will/ make you stronger and draw you closer to Himself through this. :) <3

  5. That sounds crazy. I really appreciate your testimony of faithfulness during this time.

On a lighter note, I had a photo program to recommend... It's called Gimp and it's free! (It does almost anything Adobe Photoshop does).

    Blessings,

  6. Hello my sweet girls!

I have but a minute to write, so I will make it as heartfelt as I can. I will most assuredly lift you up in my daily prayers! I know what it is like to have two parents who are suffering from odd health issues, having your computer not agree with what you need to do, and I can also understand how it must be so difficult for you two to even consider posting on your blog at this time. Do not feel bad about this last thing. The Lord will give you both the time to come back to the blog when His timing is right. Have faith! You will all be blessed with the strength needed to walk through these trying days, I know because He can do all things. :)

Be courageous my sweet friends! We miss seeing and hearing from you, but you haven't fallen off the face of the earth yet! Hold fast to all good things!

Prayerfully and with all my love,

  7. I'll be keeping your family in my prayers! We had to leave our church just a little over a year ago, and it is a very hard time. I just thought I'd let you know, it does get better! God has great things in store for you and your family and it's always darkest before the morning! :)

  11. May I ask why u need me to have some sort of I'd when posting?

    1. Because we'd like to address you by name when replying to your comments. You don't have to sign-in just put your name at the end of the comment so we know who we're talking to. Sometimes we get multiple anonymous commenters and it can get a little bit confusing! ;-)

  12. I am NOT that anonymous above but the only reason I post Anonymous is because I don't have any sort of those ID's to be able to post. If I got a blogger profile, which my parent s won't let me for a while, then I would definitely post on a blogger or anything else. But only Anonymous works for now :(

    1. Hello! To answer your question; this is definitely NOT the end our blogging ride. In fact we we are hoping to purchase a new computer this week!! We both have missed blogging so very much. We've missed our reader's encouragement and getting to know each of you!
      Thanks for your inquiry!
