Lately // Sara's Birthday Bash

Lately // Sara's Birthday Bash
Hello dearies! I have so much to blog these days, but hardly time to catch up and type up the posts! One of those events that has kept me quite from the blog here all last week, is this absolutely splendid party our family helped throw for our dear dear friend Sara's 18th birthday & graduation celebration! We had loads of fun prepping it all for a cheery shabby-chic style in the event barn were we work summers at! Hope you enjoy seeing a glimpse of what that fabulous past Sunday looked like!

We decorated with loads, and loads of wild flowers, freshly picked the morning of by our adventuring Daddy and little sisters from around our area. Happily enough for us, the barn is used for storing things in from people's old houses so were able to use a bunch of that to enhance the vintage shabby feel. Along with a bunch of stuff from our own house, the barn looked so fabulous!

The food we pretty much split down the middle between our family and Sara's to prepare. Mom and I did the big double layer cake, and I personally did the little three you'll see below that I absolutely adore how they turned out! Bek did those delectable cream cheese filling strawberries you see above, and Mom also made two different kinds of flaky scones as the theme for the food was 'English tea party'. Everything was delish!- and looked the part too. ;)

The friends who came of course made the celebration all the more grand as we sat around white linens and like I said, a multitude of wild flowers, as records played to ring in the joy of the day.

Dad and I. People on Facebook were having quite the laugh with us that Dad ALWAYS makes this face when he asks to have a picture taken of him. That and how much we look alike. ;)

Our younger two sisters! The girls looked so cute for the occasion! Emma donned a cute garden inspired Lands End print and Mel in the most adorable little girl's 1950's dress we found her last year!

Bek did amazing on capturing the events of the day as well as doing a few portraits of Sara before the night came to an end. Hopefully soon I'll introduce to you all our latest blog member, but for now I'll just keep you guessing by that little hint. ;)

Sara's pale pink tulle skirt. I actually made as part of my gift to her- 7 yards of tulle that darling skirt took! But I adore how well I did on it and how perfect she looked walking around greeting guests and such in it's gathers.

The day was so beautiful, one that we'll three remember as friends always.
