9/11/2001 "May we never forget"

This is a preview of the forthcoming rodeo post, and a tribute to the men and women who died twelve years ago, September Eleventh, 2001.

If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A.,

There's pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.!

Also, there was an announcement during the rodeo and the flags were put at half staff for a state trooper, Paul Butterfeild, who was shot in the line of duty yesterday evening....

Even after all that happened these brave people still believed in what America stands for.

"I pledge Allegiance to the flag,
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic, for which it
stands. One Nation, under God,
with Liberty and Justice for all."

Though some strive to remove the words 'under God' from our national pledge, they can never remove the true meaning of why and how our country came to be.
Some people try to tell me that the pilgrims didn't come here to worship God, but only to escape the monarchy rules.
Little do they know.
If God had not been with them, they would have lost the very first battle. We would be under the same rules and taxes today if not for our forefathers trust in God Almighty. We wouldn't be the undefeated nation we are today if not for the unwavering grace that God has shown the people who fought to serve Him in the truest sense.
Since the very beginning God has shown mercy to those who fight in His name.
Almost all Americans, Christian or not, know the phrase
"David and Goliath".
But do they even know how it came about? Probably not.
(I know I'm getting a little off track here but stay with me......)

1 Samuel 17:45

Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."

Many people have said it was like ' David and Goliath' how we, the newborn country of colonists and settlers, defeated the mighty British.
What they don't know is how true that is.
I'm not saying that everyone back then was a god-fearing Christian, I'm sure there were a few atheists and plain out heathens.
But the majority trusted in God, not 'themselves', as people seem to think is a good thing now.
Slowly, that majority has turned into the minority.
But God is still protecting us from the enemies.
(Whoever they might be....)

Isaiah 54:17

"No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord."

GOD BLESS AMERICA

  1. Why did you take a picture during the pledge? For your blog?

    1. Dear Anonymous, normally I would chastise anyone who would take a photo during the pledge as well, but it was during the singing of "I'm Proud to be an American", and I didn't feel it was inappropriate to snap pictures (While I was singing). For your further information and peace of mind, I was not taking pictures during the national anthem or cowboys' prayer. ~Rebekah
