The Holy Spirit // In Victorian Vest

Hi everyone!   Our Sunday was restful this past week, fellowshipping with both friends and family! We are so blessed to have everyone living nearby! As I said in our last post, we were not able to take outfit pics till today, so we will be only be showing my attire today! :)

As said in the title, our pastor spoke about the Holy Spirit. Our main verse came from Acts 1:8,    "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
He explained that once you become saved the Holy Spirit is in you as a resident. Taking it a step further to ask to be filled with Him you are then making Him the president. Once you ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit you not only have the ability of amazing power (from God) but the authority only He can give. God gives us the Holy Spirit as a gift; Acts 2:38,39 "Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and all your children and for all who are far off."
Many people believe that we should not speak in other tongues, but this is clearly the evidence of your belief! Acts 2:4 "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other toughs as the Spirit led them."  We see from this verse that the Holy spirit leads us to speaks words that only God and those that He enables can interpret! So amazing! This sometimes scares people and then they miss out on the blessing. We know from Scripture though that God's thoughts are so much higher than ours- who are we to judge ?  We need to have faith in God and take hold of this blessing!

"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scriptures has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."   John 7:37,38

I found this beautiful vest at our goodwill on Saturday! I really wanted to wear it for our church services the next morning , but was slightly confused at what to wear with it! After a bit of figuring this is what I came up with. The purple shirt is not completely perfect, but I was glad that the color coordinated so nicely!  Also, this elegant Victorian look could have been a bit better with some long earrings, but I do not have my ears pierced (just a bit too frivolous for me) therefore I added the gold headband!  :)

    1. HI! It really depends on what it is. This weekend I bought some Ariat Fatbaby's (they are a really nice pair of working boots, prices ranging up to hundreds) at a local resale shop for $65. This was alot for me to spend but a great deal on what I got! I think $20 for a special dress is a good deal! :)
