Funk + Fab || 'Guest' outfit!

Hey! Time for a funk and fab!!!
As I usually do, I will be having an outfit accompanying them!
From the title you can see that there is a guest outfit, but you'll have to scroll down to see who it is!

Black shoes- thrifted: $3 // Black maxi skirt- Goodwill: $4 \\ Purple sleeveless undershirt- thrifted: $? // Purple floral spaghetti strap shirt- Goodwill: $3 \\ Green 'army jacket'- Goodwill: $4

And now for the 'guest surprise'!
It's our little sister Melody! Ain't she darling?

Mel's hair has natural highlights!

These outfits are what we wore to our Sabbath Saturday Group, and we took the photos before we went so the sun was still coming up hence the beautiful rays of light!    ;-)
The following outfit is what I wore on Sunday!      ;-)

My bun turned out perfect!
One of the only good shadow pictures I've ever taken!

                   Funky:
  • Picking up a water bucket and having a duck fly out at you!
  • Stepping out the door and realizing the temperature has dropped 30 degrees since last night.
  • Finding a verse in the Bible that directly opposes global warming. {Genesis 8:22  "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."}
  • Finding birthday presents you forgot to give.
  • Aprils in MI.
  • The literal meaning of the saying "There's a fox in the henhouse".  We recently had a visit from Mr. Fox.
  • When they kill off more characters than they keep in TV shows.  [a.k.a. Downton Abbey! Why did Matthew have to die???]
  • Finding a painting of your Dad for sale in Goodwill! It was done about 20 years ago by a friend of his for an art poster and we found one! What you can find at thrift stores!
  •  Ladybug season! Yuck!
  • Being a girl who actually owns {more than one} knife!  {Any kindred spirits?}
  •  Playing poker for the first time! (We played for pennies and didn't get to keep any money 'cause the money was just for that game!)      ;-)

                               Fabulous:
  • Mud!
  • Finishing primer level of Bastien piano books! Yay!
  • Seeing a flock of teal ducks on our river.
  • Borrowing a live trap from a friend in exchange for whatever we caught with it! Perfect!
  • All of the sprouts in the outfit photos above! Spring spring spring!
  • Watching "A Duggar Says Yes" the first episode of this season!
  • Homemade sour dough bread!
  • Spring break! [No- we do not get off from school, but we get a week off from Dutch Heritage Show practice!]
  • Our new type set on the blog- I like it much more!
  • Going on the first family bike ride of the year!
  • Playing Apples to Apples Bible version! It is so so so fun!!!
  • Getting a *new  {*to us} car! Coming soon to a photo-a-day near you!

Would you like to see more guest posts on our blog?
Have you been on any bike rides yet?
Do you hunt or trap wild game?

Wishing you all a happy happy happy week,
                                                                             ~Rebekah

  2. I am also one of those knife owning gals! I think possibly the next thing I need is a multi tool. I am always needing to borrow my brother's. Finding a painting of your dad at a thrift store would be pretty interesting, and somewhat on the creepy side, but funny none the less!

I really like the picture of your head silhouetted against the sky!

  5. You and your sisters outfits are pretty! And wow, that is so cool finding that pic of your dad!

Oh yeah, I am definitely the kinda gal that has a lot of knifes! Let me see, I have... 8 (4 pocket knifes, one misc. knife, and 3 throwing knives!)! ;)

    Bubbles and Blessings!

  6. Aw, your little sister is so cute! Oh my goodness, your bun DID come out perfect! Wish my hair cooperated like that...
Wow. That would be the weirdest thing, finding a picture of your dad at goodwill. You must live in a pretty small town!(don't worry, I mean that in a good way! I'd love to live in a small town!) That's awesome about the anti-global-warming Bible verse. And the reference to playing poker made me giggle inside. All I can ever think of when someone says "poker" is all the bad guys in shows like Little House and the Prairie or some other pioneer movie. ;)
Okay. I love the game Apples to Apples--and there's a Bible version?!? I need to look into that.....my family would have so much fun playing that!!!!
Sorry for the long comment! :)

  7. I like both of your outfits Rebekah! :D Melody looks very sweet, which I'm sure she can't help but look every day (most of the time, right? ). ;) It would be fun to see more guest posts.
What a great verse to find! I didn't remember that part of it. Also, how funny to find an old painting of your Dad! By the way, why are lady bugs yucky? Do they come in abundance?
Oh, and I haven't been on a bike ride yet, but that would be fun.

    1. Abundance is an understatement when talking about MI ladybugs where we live! They smell really bad when they die too! ;-P Not my favorite bug! Thanks for commenting Paige! ~Rebekah

  8. I love both of your outfits! I especially love your black maxi skirt. Your sister is SO sweet, and as for her hair...it's sooo pretty! I think many girls would pay to have such pretty hair like hers. ;)

Haha, "Finding birthday presents you forgot to give." We always seem to do things like that...especially during Christmas.
Oh, and I completely know what you mean by how awkward it is, "When they kill off more characters than they keep in TV shows." Although I haven't watched any episodes of "Downtown Abbey," I know of many shows, or movies, that do such things; my family and I always talk about how annoying it is.

    God Bless,
    ~Esther
