Outfit || What I Wore as a Tourist!

Hey everyone! While in Lithuania we had a chance to be tourists for a day! Cassie took some outfit pictures for the blog while we were at the Trachea Castle near Lithuania's Capital, Vilnuis.
This is when we were downtown Vilnius on what is known as "the walking street". Everyone walks there! Even the birds as you can see!

This was taken at the castle's entrance when we first thought of taking outfit photos throughout the castle.

I bought this red poncho/shawl at a yard sale right before the trip to use as a blanket on the plane. But I decided it looked fine just to wear also. ;-)

Talk about frizzy! You should have seen my hair when I took it out that night! Wait... no, you shouldn't have. :-D

I just liked this one...

This black\tan chevron skirt may be the only clothing item I have ever purchased new. [As in, not from a thrift store.] No, I will not be divulging the price. I still can't believe I payed it! It's almost worth it though. I plan on wearing it again tomorrow!

A floor-length skirt may not have been the best choice for ascending so many stairs and uneven floors as I did while visiting Trachea, but, thankfully, I remained in possession of my natural grace and poise throughout the day.
:-P

There were so many beautiful places to pose for photos! I can barely believe that's me. I have been to a different country! Can you believe it?!

This one is included because Cassie thinks it's hilarious. She insists I look like Jesus with His red robe over His shoulder!

As you can tell, I wore my black maxi underneath as a slip. I didn't really think to bring an actual slip because I brought jean skirts to wear with capris while working. And I thought I was really close to my maximum suitcase weight! I was! Disturbingly close. But, thank the Lord (and I don't say that lightly!) I encountered no trouble.

My brown Mossimo Supply Co. boots were surprisingly comfortable during the day filled with countless miles of walking on uneven cobblestone streets! I thought they'd be worn through to the sole by the time we got back to the hotel!

As I said before, I myself am having a hard time fathoming that I have been over the ocean and actually touched foot to 2 different countries! [Lithuania and Poland.] And yet life at home continued on. The chickens layed eggs. The house got dirty. The house got clean. Flowers grew. Life went on while I was having the trip of a lifetime! I hope it's not the only mission trip of my lifetime though! Okay... getting a little off track here.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to watch "The Monuments Men". Last time I watched it I was half-asleep with boredom on a man-made bird flying at approximately... I-can't-imagine-how-high feet over the ocean.
Are you embracing the new chevron trend?
Do cringe when remembering how much you payed for something you just had to have?
Would you jump at the chance to serve in a foreign country?

  1. Those pictures are so beautiful, Rebekah! I absolutely adores your shawl! I really should get one of those...I think visiting new places is so much fun! I remember when I visited Mayan ruins in Mexico. Thought it was the coolest thing ever. Probably wasn't, but I had a blast nevertheless! :)

  2. I really love the black, white and red combination. I've been loving that for myself lately. I never would have thought that your shawl was a blanket!
