Hello all! So far this week, I have run a thrift shop, babysat, cleaned rabbit cages, read a novel, danced, sang [a lot!], played the piano, and of course, worked. I've also come into possession of 2 new shirts, and gotten rid of over 25 shirts and skirts courtesy of my spur-of-the-moment closet do over! It is sooo refreshing to actually have room to move in there and not be shoving everything around trying to find "that one shirt"! I tried on every hanging shirt I own and kept only the ones I felt pretty in...okay, I did keep one or two for sentimental reasons- haha! Another perk of getting rid of stuff is...you guessed it, not feeling guilty about buying more! Hahaha! Anyway! I'm bringing to you today an outfit that is quite my style!
We started out doing the shoot on a local churches' sidewalk, but the sun was playing tricks on the camera there so we quickly retreated to the shade.
This green pocketed vest is one of my favorite pieces right now for its ability to transform any outfit into something other than what you would have expected. For instance, I wore it with this shirt to our cousin's dedication service for a more trendy, "Pinteresty" look!
You can't tell too much in these carefully angled photos (at least I hope not!) but my hair was quite the mess. Which is actually why I added the purple\green paisley print wide headband! No, it was not part of the original plan.
Aren't these shoes just to die for?? Some cow gave its life for them anyway! They are genuine leather and handmade from Egypt! Thrifted of course, for $4!
I threw on this belt at the last second to tie in the rusticity-leather look and to define the low-waisted skirt top.
"Please- no more pictures!"
"Really? We need more pictures? Well fine"
I love love love the pine tree backdrop and can't wait to go back when we have more time to utilize their beauty in the outfit pictures! As it was we were already supposed to be heading into town for a birthday party at a bowling alley! We were running to the car! ...Cassie was driving to I was actually running away from the car but... Haha! Just kidding!
As this day winds down for most everyone else, our families' day is just getting rolling! I myself have been babysitting since early this morning, Cassie has been gone and doing the same, while My Mom and brother were continuing in the tedious and grueling task of washing each and every drawer glide for the kitchen which the continuously helpful mens group began last eve.! I can not give a definite number, but when Mom purchased the hardware years ago, there were 42 sets in total, and keep in mind each 'set' includes 4 glides! So- approximately 168 glides to scrub free from oil, sawdust, and the initial grime of being stored in an oft used pole barn for 6 years. Makes me tired just thinking about it! Haahah! I am glad it was my job to only care for a 4 month old baby all day instead!
Tomorrow, I am ecstatic to be returning to Fell In Love Farm, where I was pleased to have worked a full day at a few weeks back! Until I get around to sharing my personal photos, be sure to check out the Facebook page (in the link) if you want to see some pictures of the animals there!
I will now bid you farewell so I can get back to some important business I have to conclude... finishing my book. Haha! Goodbye dear friends!
~Rebekah~
