Magazine Monday // Delineator, Nov. 1894

Magazine Monday // Delineator, Nov. 1894
Um, how is it that Magazine Monday is already here again? The weeks since last time have most definitely flown by in a hurry! Well today, I have think I have quite the treat for all my turn of the century loving friends! This week I'll be featuring a good old Delineator all the way back from 1894! Feel like taking a look with me?

I'm going to keep this easy going today and just show you a few of the pattern styles that caught my eye. From the font sets to puffed sleeved dresses, the early teens (of 1900) have been a favorite decade or so, of mine that has actually stuck. I know it's so hard to believe, (ha ha!) but I tend to go through different likes and dislikes of certain decades past. Except for this one era, my thoughts waver from this one to that. So finding this wonderfully illustrated magazine from just a few short years prior, was such a superb find for me! :)

Aren't those just so heartwarming? I adore the elegance and strangely even all the flounces scattered about. I have tended to think of my own personal style differently I think than it actually has become. (A post is in the works about that!) I love lace, gathers, and beads which this era diffidently has to offer!

Oh! And I practically leaped for joy for my doll loving ladies at THIS pattern illustration above! Can you even imagine such detail  for a doll's dress?! I you ladies just got inspired, so you're welcome! :)

I on the other hand was super excited to come across a knitting section complete with the patterns! I took a shot of this knitted bodice because I just may end up making it up come Civil War reenactment time! It's a bit later on in years, but it could work!

One last note is that I also enjoyed seeing a few pages of not just clothing making inspiration, but their around the house hold items as well.

  1. Your love for the 1890s reminds me of my love for the 1700s. The styles are just so beautiful. I LOVE the pictures that you shared today Cassie! That black Moire dress is positively gorgeous, and the polka dotted one with the ribbon swags below it is lovely too! Oh and the doll dress? Amazing!

  2. Wouldn't it be great to actually have to wear those dresses?
