Outfit // Beach Garland

Outfit // Beach Garland
Hello all! Priorities are something I've been trying to work on of late. What a task it can be! (Post to follow specifically on that.) But one I've set for myself is to try and spend more time with my youngest two sisters. With working hours long and more "grown-up" things to attend to, I feel this has easily taken a backseat. Two weekends ago now, when these pictures were taken, I decided to just hop up and take a little adventure with the two kiddos in tow one 50F. Saturday and goodness was it fun!

This friends is dear old Lake Michigan which is, at this location, is maybe 12-15 minutes drive away from us. The snow & sand from the icy waves had made all kinds of hills, crevices, holes and tunnels. We had an absolute blast tripping over skirt hems and such while trying to climb up and down them, as the snow was that type that only crunches sometimes underfoot so you're never quite sure if your footing on the next step will be a reliable one or not.

We older girls revisited a week or so later actually with a friend of ours (on a much less warm a day though!) to find that warm spell had ridden most of what landscape I'd witnessed with the younger two the week prior. Though we're getting antsy for spring to begin, this will surely be remembered as a fun time together that just me and the littles were able to take part in solely ourselves.

Clothes for Saturdays are always kinda funky-comfy-fun for me. I try to dress up a bit for Sabbath as has always been our family's custom, but since we mainly celebrate it just at home together these days, I also don't make it too much a burden to switch up if I'm going to say, take a nap or go on a hike or walk. This is a fairly good assessment of just that; nice updo, comfortable hassle-free jacket, jersey maxi skirt (Yup! Finally found one that fits well, I can stand the shape of and actually have been wearing it!) and easy slip-on shoes, no matter if they truly match or not. ;)

Thanks for stopping by! And too- for those of you who've left comments recently even with me being kinda hit or miss with blogging of late; its so nice to receive those! I still love this little corner of ours and will just have to continue as best I can with where life has me right now. Even if that means I'm not quite as consistent as I may want to be or once was.

Blessings & shalom,
Cassie

  1. Cute, comfy look Cassie! :) I'm glad you found a good jersey maxi. It's hard to find ones that aren't...tight. :-S
How neat to go an an adventure with your sisters! It's so weird to this Coastal girl to see sand with snow!

    1. Thank you dear! Yes for sure! Especially with my thighs being the widest part of me- it was nice to find this maxi that didn't cling too much. ;P
Yes! It was a grand time! (And being a Northern gal all my life I'd love to one day come your way to see just what you all call the usual for winter months over there!)

  2. How beautiful... thank you for your blog! Yes, spending time with sisters / siblings IS important and something that I fail to do frequently now that we no longer all live in the same place. Thank you for the fun reminder. Love you! :)

    1. Thank you for your comment Shay!
Yes, that puts a whole nother spin on things; to not live with or close to your siblings. That's why I want to be sure to spend the time that we are together for the most. :)
