Tests From God (Pt.2) // In Natural Elegance and a Repeat

Howdy! This weekend some of our cousins came over. Since it was only our younger ones, we mostly followed behind them, picking up rakes from their leaf pile, sweeping the mud room countless times and hanging up coats like no tomorrow! We are still recovering the house over here! But it was nice to have the little terrors!  :)  Yesterday we went to church as usual. The craziness started once we got home. A goat that we had been taking care of for a family friend, started knocking walls out of our barn! Among other catastrophes- we ended up using the afternoon driving her back home- Then talking till 11:30. :P

Last week I shared the first two ways God tests our faith.
(1.) Difficulties and (2.) Demands. Though I neglected to officially number them. Oopes!

Our main verse was also the same as last week:
"According to your faith it will be done to you."
                                                                                         Matthew 9:29
This week we explored;
3.) Dollars
A 'biggie' for sure. Our pastor stressed the fact that what we do with our material goods can determine
the track our faith takes us- and how God can further our blessings. If we are in constant need of God our faith will be abundant! If we want God to bless us with the big things we need to give Him the        little things, saying we surrender all, we have acknowledged we come into the world with nothing and we leave with no earthly possessions. Trusting these matters to God is huge. These verses he used to illustrate.

"So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth,
who will trust you with true riches?"
                                                                                                     Luke 16:11

"Out of the most severe trail, their overwhelming joy and their
extreme poverty welled up in rich  generosity.
                                                                                                       2 Cor. 8:2
Isn't the second verse amazing ? Paul is writing about the Macedonian church and saying (maybe a little bragging:)) that after all that they had gone through they were giving without being asked. They were "giving as much as they were able."(v.3) God wants us to give with cheerfulness and joy! This entire chapter is so inspiring! If you are currently wondering what to read from the Bible this would be a great!

4.) Delays
Ahha who likes waiting ? Not really. God uses our delays for His work shop time.Nope, not getting
sappy on you- just saying that even though we may know that God is not ready for what we are asking
for to happen does not mean that He is not working on it! Trust. Trust. Trust. It takes alot of time.
Remember Moses how God led them through the desert for forty years ? Apparently they were not
ready! They turned from God countless times, He was working in their faith- their trust.

"Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you in order and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands."        Deuteronomy 8:2,3

"Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on behalf of those who wait on Him.   Isaiah 64:4

There you go! If you are waiting on God, on His 'delays' He is working on your behalf!
                                                                              Keep trusting!

" I can do all things through Christ who gives me (my) strength."
                                                                                      Philippians 4:13

Like my new shirt ? We recently found a thrift store near by, all their clothes are just $2! This shirt is a super nice quality of 100% silk! I am highly considering drafting a pattern of the sleeves I like them so much! The antique feel that I love and the lace is perfect! Though a cream colored undershirt would have been apprepo, I do not have one at this time, so I added my beloved pearl necklace (thanks Grammy!) and my pearl bobby pins to coordinate with the lace! The black gave a nice solid finish!   :)

.::Flats, yard sale,$3 Slip, made by me Black skirt, thrifted,(Bek's) $4 Undershirt, ? Lace shirt, thrifted,$2 Pearls, gifted Lace shawl, yard sale, $3 ? Headband, Goody brand, dollar store, $1 Pearl bobbies, made by me ::.

                               .::Thrifted::. Skirt,$4 Shirt,J-Jill, bag sale, Long sleeve, goodwill, $4 Shawl,$3 Shoes,$3 (ancient)

We were a little rushed so Bek decided to wear an outfit that we have featured here before.Since we have added a few followers since then, maybe some of you have yet to see it any-who1 :) It looks so pretty! :)

It has been getting cold here and we are SO tired of taking our pictures up the hill by our house (I am sure you are too!) SO, Bek had this great idea to take them at this church that is right down the road! The walk was not too bad and I for one, really like the results! I am sure that you will see this lovely place again!

SO, tell me all about your weekend!

Has it been getting cold by you ?
What was your sermon on ?

  2. Such a lovely location. It just snowed last night down here in OH! Yippee! Though I don't like the cold weather too much, once the snow melts. :(
Your blouse is lovely Cassie, and both of your shawls are SO fun! (I must add more shawls to my wardrobe).

  3. Hi! My name's Natalie and I just recently came upon your blog... I love it! I loved what you said about waiting, because I feel as if the Lord is testing my faith and patience. I so want to rest in His magnificent arms and wait for Him to do as He wills!
The weather here around Colorado has been really nice, but they say it's gonna get cold. It might be nice if it snows, but I don't want just cold. It's either snow or sunshine for me... I'm not much for the in between. :)

    2. Hi! What exactly do you mean by my ID name? That probably sounds like a silly question, but I haven't been blogging too long and I'm a little confused :) God Bless!

    6. Oh, OK! :) I was wondering if there would be any way to send you my blog. It has some security settings, so I always email it to those who wish to read it.
Again, I've really enjoyed your blog. God Bless from a fellow blogger/homeschooler :)

    7. I got to thinking and I probably should just give the link to my blog in the comments instead. My parents said to be cautious concerning blog security, but I got the OK to give out my link on your blog :) Here is the link. I hope you all enjoy!

  4. Thanks for sharing the encouraging sermon.
You girls look elegant! Rebekah's outfit has almost a Spanish look to it. :)
It has been cold here too, but we have a fairly temperate climate, so it rarely gets cold enough to snow. Even then, it's just a few drops. :)
As for my weekend, it was crazily busy! It was quite fun though. :)
