Spring 2016

Spring 2016
The days of open windows and bare feet are upon us in our Michigan State. Finally the season of back and forth business of one week with snow, the next with warm rain seem to have made their last debut and flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and little new born critters are beginning to be seen scampering more now that the cooler temps aren't keeping them under their borrows.

Its always a huge delight once you start to see little green sprigs pop up from the dark cold soil. When tree limbs start to not look quite so drab as they burst forth with small dots of leaves right down to the tips. The time of crocuses comes and scatters the delicate grasses with their short stems and bursts of color. Then the daffodils come forth, making you wish all the more for the warm breezes to come and push forth the large yellow blossoms from in between their long green thinly standing screeds. This now is the time of year we have now come to, and oh what a pleasure it is to see!

Since this is basically a picture pleasure post, I thought I'd include some Scripture that's been encouraging me of late!

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely He will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue Him;
I will protect Him, for he acknowledges My name.
He will call on Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him My salvation.

Spring 2016
We had kitties born on our little farm for the first time in a few years in mid March. Their little stubby noses and scampering feet have brought much joy to us this Spring. They've begun to bat at your hands and jump up to hanging things. (Watch those tzitzit/tassels while sitting down!) They've been super healthy (save for one little eye cold the first week in one of the dears) and thankfully they've all found homes now upon the writing of this post! Mixed blessing you might say. ;)

Our dear old pony is loosing hair in clusters that fly off in the wind and beginning to lighten up from her Winter coat already. Running my hands over a warm sleek sunny back of a horse will always be one of my little pleasures I think. :)

Spring 2016
Spending days in the fresh air more now that the cold is lessening and lessening as the days go by seems to brighten spirits and gives a calm reassurance on those more stressful days we all face. So be sure to get out doors! Be that by hike, walk, laundry hanging, garden work, or a trampoline nap, let's be sure to thank YHWH for this most special season of beauty & new life!

Many blessings to you from our Father,
