Why I // Wear Tassels (What are Tzitzit?)

Why I // Wear Tassels (What are Tzitzit?)
Happy weekend to y'all! Today I want to address a topic that I know you all have had questions about. Those of you who have come out and asked about those strange looking tassels you'll sometimes see me wearing now, may have gotten your curiosity satisfied, but I thought it a good idea to type up a post so that even those who have not questioned them can know the reasons behind me wearing them as well. And then I can too can refer new readers back to this post if need be!
So what are these tassels for? Why do I wear them? These are the questions I want to cover today!

Passover (2016)

Passover (2016)
Happy first week of June to y'all! Where is this year going to so quickly?! I've wanted to get this post out the last couple of weeks, but each time I ended up blogging another post. Passover for our household has consisted of varying events over the years, but since we've been keeping the feast days consecutively for the past two and a half, this past Pesach was different than we've had before since this time we were able to just have our own family remembrance and learn deeper together what this special time is for, bringing us closer to the Father in understanding His ways for us as members of the Body.

My Journey // Why I Wear Skirts 24/7

My Journey // Why I Wear Skirts 24/7
Hope you've all had a good start to this week! I have a little slew of posts in the works, so rest assured that though I haven't given the blog as much dedicated time the last few months, it's not because of lack of inspiration! Anyways, one of those posts I've had in the works, aka, in the back of my mind to do is just tell y'all a bit about the why I dress the way I do and how I got to where I am today! About time don't you think?! So thank you for reading and I hope what I have to share will be of interest and encouragement to you!

Social Media Acceptance

Social Media Acceptance
Hi everyone! With the endeavor to post less outfit related posts, and more writings of encouragement and life situations, I'm going to be writing on a topic I hope you'll think about whether on either side of the water. Is your ego being boosted by others on social media without you realizing it? The only acceptance we should yearn for is that of our Father, not mortal man.

Outfit // Shabby Chic Refashion

 Outfit // Shabby Chic Refashion
Hello everyone! The weekend we'd been anticipating went by so well! The whether was amazing for the Civil War event and I'm super excited to show you all some pictures we captured from it over the next few days. But as for today I though I'd ease our way back into posting with a little dress refashion I completed the weekend beforehand, and share about something that's on my heart today.

Why I || Am Anti-Abortion Not Pro-"Life"

 Why I Am Anti Abortion Not Pro Life Banner Photo
Hey folks! I truly hope this post goes over better than my last "Why I" post, that certainly did not get the response I was hoping for! I'm afraid my sarcasm in titling the post may have been a bit much for I assume most of you took it as if I truly do think being 'gay' is 'okay', as in, not a sin, which was not my intention whatsoever! I did take the liberty of choosing a, once again controversial, topic for today's blog. Please do not misunderstand my opinion based on the title alone, for I most certainly am Pro-Life in the sense that you all think of it as! But recent *discussions (*id est, all-out tooth-and-nail debates!) with some staunch Pro-Choice Liberals via Instagram have led me to the decision that I must label myself from this time forward (At the very least while conversing with anti-Pro-Lifers!) an Anti-Abortionist rather than the widely used term, Pro-Life. Read on to find out why a simple exchange of words, that we consider to have the same meaning, sparked a lively exchange that could have been easily avoided with a correct use of vocabulary!

Why I || Don't Care About "Gay Rights"

Mis14
What if I told you that I agree with the following statement: "Michigan's gay rights record is an embarrassment. We risk becoming the next state to draw the national spotlight as a backwards, unwelcoming place if our policy-makers do not act swiftly to right the wrongs imposed on Michigan's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community."

...Based on the fact that the majority of our followers are Christians, you probably think I'm crazy. Well, I'm here to tell you that I do in fact agree with this excerpt from a local newspaper's opinion page. Why is a whole other thing entirely.

Why I || Don't Wear a Headcovering (Yet)

IMG_2261
Okay... So, way back on my post when I first asked for ideas, (HERE) Brigid Boyer asked what my thoughts on head-coverings were, nothing in specific, just in general I assume. Well... I'm here today to tell y'all what my thoughts are on the subject of covering hair vs. covering your head, and why I don't actually wear a covering (yet)!

Why I || Won't Be "Dating"

Why I Won't Be Dating Banner
 Hi there all! Are you ready for the second installment of this new series? I sure am!
This week's Why I post is inspired by the following comment:

This from Miss Molly Gibson-
What are your rules for courtship/dating? And now while you're not in a romantic relationship, do you hug/kiss boys - because me, for example, when we have people over, I just kiss or hug them 'hello' and 'goodbye' even if they are boys.
Why would you set stricter rules for when you're pursuing a romantic relationship than the normal relationship you have with just-other-boys?
I read in one of your old posts that your convictions are similar to the Duggar's - why would you save holding hands for the engagement when you can hold hands with pretty much every other being in the world? Can't you do anything extra special with your romantic person?
What are your opinions on all that?

Well, to be perfectly clear, I am but 16 years old, and as Liesl would say, innocent as a rose! But, as you probably anticipated, I am not without my own thoughts on the matter. Keep reading to find out the answers to Molly's question, and more!

Gun Control || What is Biblically Correct?

gunandbibleSo... gun control. A big topic that never seems to come to a climax or conclusion. I have a solidly thought out opinion that we as U.S. citizens should be entitled to bear arms, concealed or not. But, since I live in a safe [to say the least] neighborhood/town, I have never felt the need to personally wield a firearm to ensure my safety or the safety of my friends and family. That being said, and putting any and all political correctness aside, I must raise the question of Biblical correctness. Is it right to threaten other humans for your own well-being?

What We Do When Church Has to Cancel

When Church is Cancelled Main Banner
Happy day to y'all! I thought it would be fun to share here on the Blog, a few fun things the sisters and I did last week sabbath while the rest of the crew had other things to attend. Some of these may strike your fancy (face masks anyone?) as being a girl of our age and same interests, but quite a few have to do with family in general or, as I said having a fun day with your younger siblings! Maybe you will get an idea for the next time you are snow bound and need something restful to do too! So welcome to spending a day with us as we celebrate the Sabbath and day of rest at home, in the many different ways as you'll see below!

Outfit // Snazzy Jacket || Feminism, Good or Evil?

Hi everyone! So, today I will be delving into the topic of feminism. Or perhaps, due to my hardly sufficient knowledge of it, just brushing the exterior... Feminism as a whole is, in my opinion, destructive to females and males alike. The definition of feminism is as follows:
Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies which share a common stated aim: to define, establish, and defend equal political, economic, cultural, and social rights for women.
So, my question is, how can feminism be a bad thing if the sentence above is truly what feminism is all about?

Outfit // Why I May Start Wearing Tzit-tzit || +What Are They?!

 Hello all! So...my title. You probably want an explanation. Well, I guess I should start way back in March when our family first visited the Torah Community Bible Study. Our Aunt had invited us several times and my parents finally decided we could go and see what it was all about. While I didn't really enjoy it (the first time), I was interested and wanted to go back! And go back we did! We've scarcely missed a service since! But how does all this add up to why I might start wearing four weird little strings on my shirt? Read on to find out!

Book Review // Romance God's Way

Hey all! I hope that you all have had a great weekend to re-coop! :) Bek and I are off to a busy day to start off our week, so I thought I'd do a quick stop-in to recommend a book to y'all! I've had many people (especially young girls) in the past as me if I was familiar with Eric and Leslie Ludy's books. I'd comment back to each of them, saying that I had, but never took up one of their books personally. Until around six months ago. Well, I'm here to tell you a bit about just one of their wonderful writings that I know will strum on your heart's strings. :)

The History and Evolution of "Halloween"

Hey all! Today I'm going to be talking about a deeper topic. Most of you will remember last year, around this time, Rebekah conducted a post about the issue of Halloween, what her personal thoughts were, what the Word says about such things, a brief history and reasons why our family has had nothing to do with this "holiday" of sorts. But this time around I'm taking a little bit bigger of a microscope to tell you about where these ideas originally came from and how serious this "fun" day was and is. So grab something to keep your hands busy and a little something to elude your hunger cause this may be a bit of a read.
