Outfit // Polished Denim (Fresh Apparel Skirt Review)

Mis13
Hi everybody! I'm super excited to bring this outfit post to you today because it has literally been on the "future blog posts" list for months! Way back in June of last year, Olivia of Fresh Modesty launched a Kick-starter for her new line of clothing, specifically her Errand #17 skirt. I knew as soon as I heard the news that I wanted to be a part of her dream in helping her out in any way I could. So I backed her financially and could hardly wait till my goodies arrived; that being my Fresh Apparel T-shirt and, this simply wonderful denim skirt.

Though I had made an Errand #17 skirt before using Olivia's e-pattern, (styled here and here) like I said in the opening paragraph, I just really wanted to support her even if I didn't need a factory made #17. The Kickstarter was great because it allowed us to "buy" things, but also launch her business at the same time! I'm soo glad I took up the chance while I had it! Plus now I have two Errand #17's one "me made" and one custom hemmed to my personal preference by a soon to be famous clothing line. ;) It's also great that each of the skirts happen to be different weights of denim which makes having each of them even more handy and efficient.

I wish that I had candid photos of everything I have accomplished in this skirt the past few weeks that I have had it. I've corralled herds of kids on hours on end, hauled 35+ kitchen cabinets from pole barn to house, practiced my driving skills, done approx 25 hours of house work, went to many of our Dutch Days play practices, and attended bonfires all while wearing this skirt! And that's just to name a few! It's so amazing. I call it my "FF skirt"- flattering & functional, cause that is exactly what it is.

This skirt has been the biggest blessing since I started being a nanny to four little neighbor boys, ages five and under. I can simply get up and get ready to go face the "herd" without having to wear ugly junk clothes in case who knows what happens to me because of their energetic little selves. It's kinda kept me partially sane as I learn how to help this family and learn how to balance everything else in my life. At least I can look flattering and put together even if I am really going crazy with a crying baby, an 18 month old running around with no pants on, and the other two fighting over a toy train car while I trip on the other thousand they dumped out five minutes after I put them away. Yeah, life is a little "cray-cray" but at least I have a jean skirt I love! ;) Haha!

How long have you known Olivia?

Have you ever made a denim skirt before?

What does your favorite jean skirt look like?

This is my command- be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

P.S. There was a little problem while trying to publish this post on it's designated day - Monday; which may explain this post popping up in some of your various social media feeds and then it disappearing. Just an FYI. :)

  1. What a pretty outfit...I just love it! And the way you did your hair is gorgeous too...I praise the Lord that that we can be feminine and modest in how I dress:)
I love my denim skirts...I only have pencil skirts and one tiered skirt, but I would love one like yours! It looks wonderfully practical and also pretty!
And I am also a nanny for a bit...more like and au pair/house keeper for a sweet friend of mine's mom... As her older children and husband are away and she has their family shop to run, I traveled down from where I live to look after her four little boys and keep the house in some order! It's a great learning eperience!
Have a very blessed day and thank you for sharing such blessed encouragement and inspiration on your blog! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit:)
    Much love in Christ,
